Noboa communicated this achievement through a message on his personal X account, thanking the intervention of the Ecuadorian and Spanish National Policewho managed to find the criminal in a joint operation.

The Los Lobos criminal gang had become the most powerful criminal gang in Ecuador, leading the war between criminal organizations that has been taking place in the country since the end of 2020.
The criminal group led by ‘Pipo’ sought to emancipate itself from Los Choneros and was the most successful in displacing them by creating, according to authorities, an alliance with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel to ship cocaine to Mexico, coming mainly from Colombia, in contrast to its rivals, who are allied with the Sinaloa cartel.
