Livre used the accounts given for the 2026 State Budget to refer to the importance of discounts for immigrants. We would like to say that, despite the Central Administration presenting a deficit, Social Security, whose accounts must be integrated into the Community Programs Budget, presents an estimated surplus for 2025 of 5.4 million euros and an estimated surplus for 2026 of only 6.4, that is, an increase of around 14%. And this means that it ends up being the workers who manage, in some way, to compensate for the Central Administration’s deficit in the Budget. Including immigrant workers who pay into Social Security and contribute heavily”, said deputy Patrícia Gonçalves to journalists.
The party regrets some lack of depth in the document. “We had little time to analyze the document. What stands out to us is that the Budget has reserves, both in the Ministry of Finance and in other ministries. We have to analyze it better to understand the meaning of these reserves and the true impact”, he responds in Parliament, stressing that the document “was presented on the date of the local elections”, can be taken as “a political instrument” and that “could, but was not participated in.”
“It is a Budget that has no measures, we think it is an attempt to have some approval, to facilitate feasibility, but we understand that the Budget is a political instrument and we will present our proposals, as always”, reiterates Patrícia Gonçalves, mentioning that IRS and IRC, for example, had already been discussed on the sidelines.
Regarding the possible feasibility of the budget, the deputy says that the parliamentary group will reflect. “We expect there to be many changes to operations. We will analyze the document and we will decide what proposals we are going to present”, he concluded.
