Open Prairie Natural* Pork is exclusively produced at the facility in Waterloo, Iowa. The protein is crafted by a single workforce, ensuring a consistent product you can depend on.

Our animal welfare policy

Throughout our entire supply chain, we strive for essential elements of responsible food production. This includes responsible harvesting, proper animal handling and good animal welfare practices.

Here are some ways we achieve this:

  • FarmCheck® program — third-party auditors check animal access to food and water, proper human-animal interaction and worker training at independent farms.
  • For employees handling hogs, Pork Quality Assurance® Plus (PQA) training is required.
  • All hog transporters are required to be trained pursuant to the Transport Quality Assurance (TQA) for hauling livestock.
  • Harvest facilities — robust program in place to manage responsible handling policies, procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.
